Founded in 2009, Yu Vi Studios, LLC is a fresh addition to the Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Bachata and Urban dance studio market in Chicago. Yu Vi Studios, LLC was begun due in part to the recognized need of providing residents of the Chicago-land area meaningful choice and a reasonably-priced option when it comes to Salsa, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Bachata and Urban dance schools. With incomparably talented instructors, we are capable of training any willing student to perhaps eventually be able to dance and perform like this or this or this. While our studio is in its fledgling stages, the talent there is anything but. In all, we have a combined 70+ years of not only dance instruction knowledge, but also of international-caliber dance performance experience. A number of the instructors are crowned champions of local and regional dance competitions. Two instructors in particular, Pablo Rivera, Jr. and Kathleen Neubauer, have on multiple occasions represented the Midwest in International Salsa/Mambo competitions. Jorge Alvarez, has not only taught and performed all over the United States and abroad, but has also spent the last seven years directing one of the most talented and successful Salsa, Mambo, and Urban dance performance companies to ever come out of Chicago – the Urban Vibe Dance Company. People from all over the country regularly seek his technical expertise and creative input. Luis Lopez, has spent over 11 years mastering the craft of social dancing, while Jose Cuevas, perhaps the most seasoned veteran at the studio, can be credited as one of the pillars responsible for spreading the “On 2” movement throughout the Chicago-land area. Interestingly enough, all current instructors share a common thread in that we all either currently or have previously performed with the Urban Vibe Dance Company. . . and it is perhaps this that is at the nexus of our ability to provide dance instruction with unrivalled precision, effectiveness, and above all, fun.
